STADTTHEATER

The oldest theater in Freiburg opened in 1910 in the middle of the famous Bertoldstraße. It suffered a lot during the Second World War and was restored and rebuilt in 1984. The building houses 4 stages: das Große Haus, das Kleine Haus, die Kämmerbühne and die Werkraum. A true cultural center, thanks in part to its proximity to the University, it is popular for its children's program. This little architectural gem offers hundreds of rare plays, ballets and operas.
