Martin Maheux-Picard and Alexandre Deslauriers hold the reins of this popular artisanal dairy bar. Ice cream, sorbets, ice cakes and other delicacies are made entirely in their workshop. The original recipes have no added colourings or flavours, and absolutely everything is homemade (caramel, caramelized almonds, pistachio paste... and even the cones!). Note that many of their frozen products as well as their cookie dough are available in some fine grocery stores and restaurants in the greater Montreal area

When the little window on the corner of Rachel and Laval opens, it's time to order an ice cream cone. The two brothers behind this gourmet project have decided to offer a limited selection of soft ice creams made from organic, lactose-free and vegan coconut milk. The classic vanilla and chocolate flavors are still available, with two new ones appearing every two weeks. Most sorbets are made with seasonal Quebec fruit. Definitely an artisanal creamery to try in fine weather!

This little store's specialty? Ice cream sandwiches. And it's fair to say that they've mastered the art. Artisanal ice cream encased in two soft, homemade cookies: a delicacy that exudes North American flair. And then there are the flavors that are always on the menu, like sweet and sour (pretzel cookie, vanilla ice cream, caramel heart) or vegan blueberry chocolate. And every month, the window displays the creations of the month. For those a little wary of the decadent cookie/ice cream combo, it's possible to taste them separately.

Dalla Rose welcomes visitors looking for a refreshing and gourmet break, after a stroll in the Saint-Henri district and perhaps before strolling along the Lachine Canal? The original flavors rotate very regularly, to the delight of the district's regulars. Black sesame, Saguenay blueberries, Quebec corn, or the traditional flavours of vanilla, chocolate and strawberry are on the long list that changes with the seasons and the chef's inspiration. Several vegan ice creams are also available.
