VIA Rail trains serve Abitibi, Mauricie, Quebec, Saguenay, the south shore of the St. Lawrence as far as Gaspésie (Matapédia Valley), the Maritimes (New Brunswick and Nova Scotia), Ottawa and southwestern Ontario (Montreal-Windsor corridor), not to mention the rest of the country. Amtrak trains to the U.S. also depart from here (francais.amtrak.com). We recommend buying your tickets online in advance to get the best rates.

The public transit system takes you almost everywhere. The city has a metro (68 stations on 4 lines) that even goes to Laval (North Shore) and Longueuil (South Shore). If it is not in operation at night, more than twenty night buses take over and cover the entire city. The blue line of the metro will be extended to Anjou in the east of the city (inauguration date under review).

Dozens of airlines operate domestic and international flights. To get from the airport to downtown, the most efficient means are the 747 shuttle (24-hour service, $11 CAN for a ticket valid for 24 hours on the entire Zone A network), cabs (from $48.40 CAN to downtown) and services such as Uber. Additional regional shuttle service, not to mention minibuses to certain hotels (contact your hotel for details).

They offer different types of services, such as transportation to the airport, paratransit, school transportation, transport of biological specimens, event transportation and more. They serve the Montreal, Laval, South Shore and North Shore areas. Cab Diamond also has a mobile application and website to facilitate cab bookings. Their goal is to electrify 2030 of their vehicles, making them the largest fleet of electric cabs in Quebec. They emphasize safety, with trained drivers and on-board surveillance cameras. However, due to the current driver shortage, reservations are unfortunately not guaranteed.
