Located between Kelowna and Osoyoos, between Okanagan Lake (to the north) and Skaha Lake (to the south), the town of Penticton has an air of Osoyoos (although it is larger). In Native American, its name means "a place to stay forever". On the shores of Okanagan Lake, you can visit an old Canadian Pacific sternwheeler: the SS Sicamous. Every year, the city hosts a stage of the International Triathlon Championship. In May, the Meadowlark Festival is held here to celebrate the valley's ecological heritage. This small town is worth a stop, if only to enjoy its beautiful beaches when the weather permits.
