Several attractions are located in Summerland, just north of Penticton on the west shore of Okanagan Lake. Long inhabited by the Salish people before European settlement in 1880, the area developed primarily as a farming area with vineyards and fruit farms, which were favourable to the climate of the region. Today, it is a tourist town that wants to be eco-responsible by showcasing its local products, one of the main reasons that bring its visitors. Its sunny climate, its landscapes and its few lakes make it a privileged holiday resort. Hiking and water activities are available on site, in addition to golf courses.
