Travel Guide Hope

A gateway to the interior of the province, Hope is in the heart of the valley, at the confluence of two rivers (Fraser and Coquihalla) and at the foot of two mountain ranges: the Coast Mountains to the north and Cascade to the south. This exceptional setting of mountains, lakes, canyons and even tropical forests makes hiking, biking and gliding a real treat. Chainsaw woodcarvings are scattered throughout the city, a local practice that gives rise to a competition every two years in the summer. The various parks and gardens in the city bear witness to the lush nature of the region. For the record, in 1981, the town of Hope was the setting for the filming of the movie Rambo.
