Located at the mouth of the Rio Valdivia, facing the port of Corral, this seaside resort has three beaches: La Playa Chica, Grande and de los Enamorados. People also come here to taste the regional flavours: take a break in one of the restaurants on the seafront to enjoy the delicious fresh, local seafood, or meet up in January at the Feria Costumbrista to make the most of the local produce of the region. Nielba is also coveted for its national monument, the "Castillo de Nielba". Built in the 17th century by the Spaniards, it was one of the largest fortifications in America.
