This small island is reached with the Cardenal Silva Henríquez lancha from Lota (capacity: 68 people). It leaves the city from Tuesday to Friday at 11:00 am (Sunday 12:00 pm) and returns on Monday at 8:00 am and from Tuesday to Friday at 3:00 pm (duration: 2 hours of travel, for a cost of approximately $9,000 per person round trip). There are a few guesthouses on the island, but it is also possible to camp. The beaches of Santa Maria Island are rather attractive and some nice little walks are to be expected!
