Carolina Baza, a Chilean chef trained in Paris, offers creative cuisine inspired by the concept of bistronomy. Prices are low for the quality offered, and the staff are very attentive. You'll eat great crab pasta, lamb stew, beef cheeks and the tiramisu is one of the best in town! If you're tempted by everything and don't know what to choose, the waiters offer excellent advice. Don't forget to pair your dishes with one of the remarkable wines on offer. The chef also owns Ambrosía, a restaurant on the Vicatura side.

The workers in the centre of Santiago have long since adopted this small, lively place that serves very good Chilean casera (home-made) cuisine: lomo a lo pobre, caldo de gallito, empanadas... at prices that are, after all, honest. The lunch menu is a good choice, quite correct and at a low price. A good option to blend in with the daily life and discussions of the locals. The waiters have a smile and the prices are reasonable. The famous Pablo Neruda used to eat there: why not you? It is better to pay in cash than by card.

Just a stone's throw from the Plaza de la Constitucion, the Blue Jar is the place to be. White-tiled walls, a vast room in the center of which sits a dark wooden bar surrounded by tall, vintage chairs - that's the decor. The atmosphere is that of a popular canteen, a no-frills brasserie populated mainly by locals. When it comes to food, there's plenty to choose from: bagels, toast, sandwiches, empanadas, croquetas, burgers, lasagne, soups, grilled fish, beef fillets or salad, not forgetting the hearty "ounce" and desserts. In 2022, the neighborhood inaugurated Chile's first paninoteca! Paninis, the famous Italian sandwiches, are the stars of this small local. Take a seat at the few tables on the terrace and let yourself be seduced by the tempting menu. Behind the stove, Italian chef Nicola Schincaglia offers speck, smoked prosciutto, mortadella with pistachios and pecorino cheese made from sheep's milk. We recommend you try the Quel Bravo Ragazzo menu, with three panini choices to try as you go.

Gaëtan and his wife (French people who lived in Tahiti) offer in this small brewery what is today considered one of the best tables at decent prices in Santiago. Rabbit with mustard, duck breast with honey, trout meunière, shrimps flambéed in pastis, homemade foie gras terrine, beef bourguignon... the French terroir has made the trip to the Chilean captain and it's all good! Crowded every noon and every evening, on the terrace or inside (reservation more than recommended)

Year after year, this Peruvian restaurant is always full. It serves excellent Peruvian, chifa and international cuisine. Most of the dishes are based on sea products but the menu also offers meat, risottos and vegetarian dishes. The patio and the interior decoration are very tasteful: pre-Columbian art rubs shoulders with frescoes of traditional pirogues on the walls. The must? Sip a pisco sour cocktail outside on the terrace while enjoying the pool. A real little nugget!

In Santiago, Liguria restaurants are real institutions! The one in the Lastarria neighborhood is no exception. This imposing three-story restaurant has several rooms, all nicely decorated and different from each other, as well as a recently inaugurated hidden terrace. On the menu, an ultra-gourmet Chilean cuisine. You only have to look at the slates announcing the dishes to get your mouth watering: Italian bacon with tagliatelle, Patagonian lamb or tripe with rice, everything is a real delight!

An original and interesting menu (tapas or dishes) for this recent address, which we especially recommend to savour one of the excellent wines on offer (you will find more than 350 Chilean wines on the menu!) while snacking, as the portions to eat are, alas, not very copious and are a bit expensive. Carpeted floors, wooden chairs, white tablecloths and stylish lighting, the restaurant at the Hotel Plaza San Francisco treats guests and non-residents alike to Chilean and international dishes. Open only for lunch on weekdays, and for lunch and dinner on weekends, special care is taken in both plate presentation and service. With its subdued atmosphere and its British-inspired decorative touches, this restaurant, which looks more like a pub, is different from the other addresses in the neighborhood. Here, we play the authenticity card: on the menu, mainly pizzas and burgers. Organized on three levels, the Red Pub transforms itself at night into a large bar.

This avant-garde address has been serving vegetarian dishes since 1927! Needless to say, the options are varied and the quality is there. They serve coffees but also fruit juices, including the emblematic carrot juice, the specialty of the house! Welcome to the temple of molecular cuisine. Chef Rodolfo Guzmán likes the most unlikely ingredients (flowers, fruits, chlorophyll...) to obtain amazing flavours. To discover: oysters with natural persimmon and passion fruit jam, smoked hake with cinnamon and cooked at low temperature for 4 hours. For a complete panorama, choose the 8-course tasting menu. Some love it, some hate it! But, according to us, it's one of the best restaurants in Santiago. To try at least once in his life!

Who doesn't know Liguria? Everybody finds themselves in this very Chilean "bistro" with unpretentious dishes and unpretentious sticks for lunch and dinner. In an elegant setting, kitschy according to some, but certainly very typical, the service is enthusiastic and smiling. The very friendly atmosphere becomes very hectic in the evening (especially at the Providencia Avenue address), so if you plan to dine in a quiet place, remember to come early. A timeless institution that is well worth a visit during your stay.
