Sirhind is just a few minutes from Fatehgarh Sahib (approx. Rs. 5 by public bus). Don't miss the magnificent Am Khas Bagh garden, built by Emperor Akbar, then redeveloped by Emperor Jahangir. The Rauza Sharif mausoleum of Sheikh Ahmed Farooqi is considered a second Mecca by Sunni Muslims. In August, thousands of pilgrims flock here from all over the world. Around the mausoleum, you'll see tombs and cenotaphs, including that of King Shah Zaman of Afghanistan.Access: Buses run between Sirhind and Patiala (1-hour journey, approx. Rs. 25), as well as Chandigarh (2-hour journey, Rs. 50).
