Just before Boumalne-Dades, the small village of Souk el-Khemis is home to the Bureau des Guides de la Vallée des Roses, which coordinates the activities of mountain guides in the region. It is located on your left as you arrive. Boumalne du Dadès is a large town of more than 30,000 inhabitants and the most important administrative centre in the region. It is located at the crossroads of the paths leading to the Dades Gorges, the Birds Valley and the Roses Valley. It is a city in height, which overhangs the valley and offers absolutely superb views on the green banks of Dades and the surrounding mountains.
