The pineapple capital, located 23 kilometers south of the North Eleuthera airport, is also the main village of the North Eleuthera district, apart from Dunmore Town (on Harbour Island) and Spanish Wells. The village is nestled on a hillside and is built up to the center of the village. The town's reputation comes from the pineapple, which has long been an invaluable source of wealth. The Pineapple Festival is a popular event celebrated in June, with many festivities such as the biggest pineapple eating contest. The village is home to one of the best souvenir stores on the island, Island Made Gift Shop.
