In this area, 250 menhirs or fragments have been recorded in a total area of 42 km², the largest concentration of prehistoric monuments in the Iberian Peninsula. After the junta freguesia at the traffic circle take the first right, continue for 1 km and then turn left at the sign for Monte dos Amantes. Park after the tunnel. This route, which takes less than an hour, takes you back centuries. With symbolic inscriptions, these menhirs were sacred monuments related to the observation of astrological phenomena.
