Museum of Archaeology of the University of Amsterdam, with a varied and interesting collection
This museum recently made the headlines for having to return works from Crimea to the Ukraine, which were stuck in the Netherlands following a temporary exhibition and Russia's invasion of Crimea. This is the Archaeology Museum of the University of Amsterdam, which presents an impressive collection of antiquities in a didactic manner. The second floor is devoted to ancient Egypt, Mesopotamia and Iran, the second to the Greco-Roman world. This is a very interesting museum on a human scale. Guided tours are available on reservation.

Une visite qui aurait pu être beaucoup plus intéressante qu'elle ne l'a été car pas d'audio guides et très très peu de panneaux informatifs autre qu'en néerlandais... (oui oui même pas en anglais! alors qu'il n'y a que ça à Amsterdam). Dommage...
