For a long time, as in Saint-Tropez until the 19th century, there were only fishermen, fishermen's wives and lobsters galore. Generation after generation of mixed-race natives followed the boat traffic offshore, but saw no one coming. The immense beach was theirs, and they owned only modest whitewashed cubic shacks. For a long time, until the 1990s... Then a wealthy city dweller came from Cape Town in a convertible, then two, then a hundred. There are no nightclubs yet, but there are already several Michelin-starred inns and designer villas. Paternoster is a simple treasure that the rich have discovered.
