Located on a steep hill and crowned by a restored castle, this village has a large number of religious buildings: the church of Santa María del Rey, the oldest in Atienza, which was converted into a cemetery and still preserves its apse and two Romanesque doors from the 12th century; the Romanesque churches of San Salvador, San Gil and San Bartolomé, rebuilt in the 16th century... Its monumental heritage also includes the Santa Ana Hospital from the 18th century, several old mansions with porticoes, including the 18th century town hall, the Cordón hostelry, the arch of Arrebatacapas or San Juan, remains of a gate of the city walls.
