It was here that the writer Francisco de Quevedo (1580-1645) lived and died. Declared a historical heritage site in 1974, this town of more than 4,800 inhabitants developed around the Plaza Mayor, in a neoclassical style with houses that have wooden balconies and arcades. We will also visit the majestic calle del General Pérez Ballesteros as well as the multiple religious buildings present in the city like the convent of Santo Domingo, place where Francisco de Quevedo died and which conserves his cell. Tourist Office: Calle Cervantes, 16, inside the Museum of Contemporary Art El Mercado (www.villanuevadelosinfantes.es).
