This city of more than 30,000 inhabitants is the capital of wine because it has the largest extension of vineyards in the world. It will delight the lovers of bodegas (wine cellars). The most famous of its thirty bodegas is the Bodega Museo. The wine festival takes place there the first week of September. A walk through the city center will allow you to stroll through the Plaza de España, whose architecture and layout date back to the late 18th and early 19th centuries. You can also see some beautiful modernist houses such as the Cruz, Izarra, and Ruíz Poveda houses and the casino La Confianza, of the same style. And the Church of the Assumption (15th century).
