The road goes along a rocky coast (where there are some small hospitable bays) until Mavros Kalimbos and then Koutsouras. The greenhouses make the landscape a bit heavy. There are a few rooms for rent if you decide to stop there. Two kilometers before the village, the point of interest is the Orino gorge, which used to be called the Red Butterfly Gorge. Indeed, multitudes of scarlet butterflies could be found all along this long valley of 3,5 km connecting the villages of Koutsouras and Orino. But a fire devastated the place in 1993 and despite the gradual restoration of the environment, only a few of them can be seen in spring.
