Hajós is a town famous for its wine. Its hundreds of wine cellars with their presses, style and dimensions (but in the different facade), built against each other, constitute a surreal image. At the end of Turkish domination, Swabians came from Bavaria to restock the region. They put sandy land and sunny climate for the benefit of the vine. In all, 1 200 cellars were built over time, forming a whole village. Many of them are open to tasting (by appointment in the afternoon and weekend).
