18 km from Kalocsa by Route 5106 (34 km from Szekszárd via Route 6). Crossing the Danube as a barge. Paks has the country's only nuclear power plant. Built by the Russians in 1967, it provides nearly 40% of the country's electricity needs. Despite some concerns after the Chernobyl disaster, its usefulness and the issue of nuclear power in general have never been subject to serious questioning in Hungary. In 2014, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán even directly signed the extension of the plant in the Kremlin. However, Paks deserves to be arrested for his church built by Imre Makovecz, probably one of the most beautiful recently built in Hungary.
