Evdilos is the2nd main port of Ikaria and its former capital. Located 35 km northwest of Aghios Kirikos, the town is built in an amphitheater around a natural bay that is closed by the port. It was built after 1830, when the fear of pirates ended, and remained the main town of the island until 1912. Today, it is a pleasant town that lives to the rhythm of the arrivals and departures of the ferries. The streets are nicely decorated with flowers and there is a relaxed atmosphere in the many cafes along the harbor. The main interest of the small town is to be a good starting point to discover the north coast.
