Travel Guide Grikos

Grikos is a small fishing port set in a breathtaking landscape, where you can enjoy a pleasant stay if you spend a little time there. Indeed, if at first sight you're touched by the old-fashioned atmosphere of the little port, your enthusiasm dries up a little in the face of the accumulation of hotel establishments. Now transformed into a seaside resort, Grikos is home to a host of tourist facilities (small family-run guesthouses, luxury hotels, traditional tavernas and chic restaurants) dotted around the surrounding hills. It's a pity, because Grikos hides its game well and can be a quiet base from which to explore the south-east of the island, taking its time. This is revealed in successive wide bays, protected from the winds and dominated by a wild and relatively mountainous south. The night is dark and starry, in silence, and you'll discover a life that flows more gently than in Skala or even Chora.
