It is a picturesque village with fishermen's boats, whose name has remained the same since ancient times, perhaps because of Apollo Tyritis, protector of cheese and dairy products(tiri means "cheese" even in modern Greek). Paralia Tyrou offers a panoramic view, and its pebble beach, mostly frequented by Greeks, is pleasant. The port is lined with cafes and taverns. You can easily find a place to sip an ouzo or enjoy some scampi. For swimming, the beach of Tigani is also nice and quiet.
