Located northwest of Slavonski Brod, this charming baroque town, with its central square, pedestrian streets, galleries and café terraces, is well worth a visit. It is served by two train and bus stations. The town was the birthplace of several Croatian artists, including the poet Antun Kanižlić or the explorer in Africa Dragutin Lerman. Noteworthy are the summer musical evenings, the choral festival in June (the Golden Strings of Slavonia). There is a tourist office with information on the city, heritage, cultural events, walks and accommodation.
