On national 6, halfway between Pécs (30 km) and Croatian border. Szigetvár is located where the Zselic hills meet the flat country of the southern Transdanubie. It is a city strongly marked by Turkey's presence and today relatively poor. In summer, there is not much to do and if you walk beyond the castle on the small road that leads to a campsite (not staying there!), you will be able to see some of the factories flooded by the crazy herbs which still seem to work! In itself, it's already a curiosity… Szigetvár has renovated its beautiful thermal baths recently.
