8 km from Keszthely, towards the interior of the land, is Hévíz, a famous spa town built around a small spa lake; the lake and surrounding area are classified as Natural reserve. Hévíz ("hév-víz" means hot water, then by derivation, thermal water). The miraculous owl its bicentennial in 1995.
