Situated between Matemwe and Kiwengwa, this small village is lost on a deserted, wild and sublime beach. It's the first beach in the sandy "white lagoon" that stretches all the way to Uroa, while to the north Matemwe is characterized by a "black lagoon" where sea urchins dot the waters. The surrounding sea is so clear it hurts your eyes! It's also an important commercial hub in this part of the island, where the roads meet in a constant ballet of dala-dala, as well as the best market in the area. Here, isolated, inward-looking resorts are designed for families in full-board or all-inclusive mode. The new Shambaland theme park is designed more for locals, but we invite you to go there for a bite to eat, miniature golf, a family escape game or shopping.
