In Soviet times, this "household appliance factory" (translation of Aparaaditehas) not only manufactured refrigerators, but also parts for submarines, among other things. Good coverage! Today, this industrial complex has been reborn as a Creative City, modelled on Telliskivi in Tallinn. Around a courtyard adorned with frescoes, art galleries, artisans' and designers' workshops, cafés and restaurants, and a print shop (the mascot cat is called Gutenberg) are grouped together. A really cool place!

KARLOVA

Street square and neighborhood to visit

Tired of old stones? Then come and discover the delightful Karlova district. A veritable village, Karlova grew up on the grounds of the manor house of the same name in the 19th and 20th centuries. The manor house still exists, at 2B Salme, but is not open to the public. The houses were built almost exclusively of wood, for Estonians, along streets lined with chestnut and lime trees. A bohemian district par excellence, it can be visited through the works of street art scattered throughout its streets (www.visitestonia.com/en/street-art-tour-in-karlova-1).
