This city of Roman origin became a fishing port for several centuries before developing in the 19th century and illustrated in 1923 during the great strike of the dockers led by Gueorgui Dimitrov. Today it is a large industrial port and a dynamic and modern city of about 200 000 inhabitants, both peaceful and lively, known for its art of living. Pleasant parks separate the city from the beach. A young and festive city, Bourgas is also known as a center for balneotherapy (bone diseases) and for programming beautiful exhibitions, festivals of classical music or folk dances, and the Sun Tribe Open Air. This city is very lively and it is pleasant to stay there to enjoy this animation, good small restaurants, nice terraces in a charming city which keeps its authenticity, seaside and thermal, but not concreted like its neighbors of the coast and especially alive all year long. It is a pleasure to walk along the large pedestrian street with its small shops where you can do your shopping and its terraces where you can stop to quench your thirst or have a snack. You can also take a pleasant walk along the beach or in the marine park. The more athletic will enjoy cycling along the bike paths along the sea, stopping at a pagoda for a barbecue or an ice cream. After sunset, it is always possible to go out to see a show or to dance in a nightclub.
