Located 20 km north of Bourgas, Pomorie is not of great tourist interest. In 1906, a fire destroyed it and, in the 1950s, the city, which had remained dilapidated until then, was rebuilt under the impulse of the communist authorities in an eponymous style. Passed by a tourist development, it wakes up little by little in the thermal field, thanks to its mud cures, considered the best of the Balkans. Black and plastic, rich in hydrogen sulfide, magnesium, calcium, sodium and iron compounds, the medicinal mud of Pomorie is exploited by the spa hotels and medical centers of the region. It is possible to go directly to the lake to cover the body with it.
