Halfway between Miaoli and Fengyuan, Sanyi is not a particularly beautiful city in itself, but it is nevertheless worth a detour. It is indeed in this small town that the Japanese occupants, seduced by the quality of the local products, developed crafts on wood, from works of art to traditional furniture. In recent years, Sanyi has seen its tourist activity grow dramatically around this attraction. There are a total of no less than 200 shops! Sanyi is also renowned for its excellent hakka cuisine. For amateurs, some beautiful trails are accessible from Sanyi station and the Woodcarving Museum by taking one of the buses to Sheng Shing station.
