Located on the banks of the Xibi Xibi River, Jujuy, capital of the province of the same name, was founded in 1593 by Francisco de Argañaraz y Murguía. Like Salta, its position on the road between La Plata and Peru favored its development. On the other hand, the tourist interest of the province of Jujuy does not owe anything to its capital. The city can be used as a stopover before diving into the Quebrada de Humahuaca. The city has an airport and it can be interesting to land there before discovering the region. You can also spend an afternoon there from Salta, following the river, discovering some pleasant places but we warn you, the city does not have much interest
