Near the southern tip of the Grenadines, here is Robinson's island, straight out of Daniel Defoe's novel... Palm Island is bordered by a fine sandy beach and a curtain of coconut trees. Once known as Prune Island, the island took its current name when its former owners, John Caldwell, known as Johnny Coconuts, and his wife Mary, planted hundreds of coconut trees, transforming this swampy and infested island into an island entirely covered with palm trees. Today, it is an island entirely privatized by a luxurious resort: the Palm Island Resort. This does not prevent you from anchoring there if you are on a cruise.
