Surrounded by sugar cane fields, Kendu Bay is located on the shores of Lake Victoria, 40 km southwest of Kisumu. The small town was once considered the entertainment capital of Nyanza, with a busy port of call, but has now become a quiet, unhurried place. People come here for its strange little alkaline lake (Lake Simbi), whose waters are said to have healing properties, populated by pink flamingos at certain times of the year, and the source of many local legends. It can be the object of an excursion from Kisumu. But we advise you to go to Homa Bay, and Rusinga Island.
