Nestled in a beautiful valley, the green hamlet of Fazenda de Santa Cruz is worth a visit for its magnificent church, but also for its floral park. From the top of this one, you will be able to see the small lake of what is however the biggest dam of the Azores. Inaugurated in 1966, this dam was financed by France in order to provide electricity to Santa Cruz and Ponta Delgada, cities where the French military base and its telemetry centers were located.
