Renowned for its xynisteri white wine, this beautiful village of traditional houses is located just far enough from the sea to have escaped concreting. But its strategic position between Paphos and Polis, and at the entrance to the Akamas region, makes it an ideal and inexpensive place to stay away from the mass tourism madness. By bus or car, you can easily travel from north to south. And here you'll find great accommodation provided by the national agrotourism agency, as well as good restaurants and winemakers eager to offer wine tastings. In Kathikas and nearby villages, there are no less than four museums dedicated to Akamas, its wilderness, birds, sea turtles, geology and cultural traditions. Kathikas is also the starting point for several trails to the sea, such as the one to the Moundiko plateau, where you can enjoy superb views of the Avakas gorge and the Akamas peninsula.
