Small hotel well located, with rooms named after a famous movie shot in the city
It's aptly named: this hotel is an adorable, affordable little gem in Union Square. Cinephile? You won't be able to resist its charm, as it's inspired by San Francisco's cinematic history. Each of the 65 delightful cocoon rooms decorated with vintage Art Deco furniture is named after a film shot in the city. In the evening, antique purple velvet movie chairs invite you to attend a screening in the Petit Théâtre. Don't forget to pick up a packet of popcorn in the lobby, decorated with photographs by Gideon Boaz.

Amazing service the front desk man went above and beyond we mentioned a black joy parade we were going to and he took the time to print us all the information.

Newly reopened. Owners were on premises to assure superior service. Our spacious room on the 6th floor was lovely. Despite location near Market and Powell, noise was minimal. Highly recommended!

Had to book a room late because my flight was cancelled. Daniel at the front desk made me feel super welcomed, gave me informations about the surroundings and where to grab a bite even late. His coworker in the morning was friendly as well. The room was very confy, due to renovation the hotel underwent. I will come again next time I visit, hands down

I stayed at this hotel for three days and it was a disappointment. When I decided to book this hotel I wanted a hotel close to the Golden Gate Bridge, I always like to stay in good and well located hotels, the hotel check in is super easy to do, the hotel is located in a very dirty area with a lot of homeless people around and drug users. regarding the room it was very frustrating, a lot of dust, there was no air conditioning, at night I had to be inside an oven because it was very hot inside the room and there was only a small fan to cool the room, regarding the bathroom , the water in the shower has no pressure, room service does not exist, they did not make my bed on any of the days, nor did they change my towels. i definitely did not have a good experience at this hotel and do not recommend it 1/10.
The best at San Francisco and around

With that said, the location is shady. I didn't mind the no AC, but with our window open we were woken to fights outside almost every night..
Unfortunately, we spent most of one day without water which eventually did get fixed.
