A charming and peaceful 3-star hotel with newly renovated rooms
A delightful French-style stopover just two blocks from Union Square. Monsieur and Madame Lambert, from Orléans, brought this beautiful, peaceful 3-star hotel to life for over 50 years, before handing over to Chloé, the French-speaking general manager and hotel expert. The rooms are bright and modern, and the hand-painted walls are well worth a visit. In the cellar, you'll find the Jeanne d'Arc fine-dining restaurant, with its knightly decor and open to all. We recommend this original address!

Originally built in 1910, Cornell Hotel de France has been owned and operated by the Lambert Family for fifty years. In that time the Lamberts have created, in San Francisco, the kind of small three star hotel that may be found on the rive gauche in Paris. For a moderate price, customers can have the personal comfort of a bed and breakfast.
Completely renovated, mixing the charm of the past and modern amenities, the Cornell Hotel is unique and distinctly European, easy going, and profuse with art and history.
Each hallway features fine prints of a single artist: Modigliani, Matisse, Chagall, Gauguin,Toulouse Lautrec...the first floor being devoted to Jeanne D’Arc.
Individually decorated, each room is equipped with cable television and telephone with private voice mail.
On the lower floor cold drinks are available, ice is at the patrons’ disposal and Restaurant Jeanne D’Arc offers authentic French cuisine in a romantic setting.

Cet hôtel est bien situé pour voyager dans la région de San Francisco en tant que touriste. Le personnel est très serviable. C'est un vieil hôtel avec un vieil ascenseur, mais il y a beaucoup de charme dans cet établissement. Le buffet du petit déjeuner est servi au niveau inférieur. J'ai adoré la décoration française et les vitraux.

Très charmant. Bâtiment historique, donc si vous cherchez du moderne et de l'actualisé, ce n'est pas pour vous. L'hôtel était magnifique. Il faudrait vraiment remplacer les fenêtres pour qu'elles s'ouvrent. Le petit déjeuner manquait cruellement, sinon j'aurais donné 5 étoiles.

Le Cornell Hotel de France est un établissement de caractère. Décoré dans un style provincial français très traditionnel, c'est une expérience unique, très différente des grandes chaînes d'hôtels habituelles. ||Tout d'abord, je dois dire que la chambre d'hôtel était très propre et que le lit était confortable. J'ai pris une chambre "confortable" - la moins chère - et elle était tout à fait acceptable, de bonne taille, avec une salle de bain en très bon état. Le personnel est formidable, le petit déjeuner est bon et l'hôtel est très bien situé dans le centre-ville de San Francisco, à 5 minutes de Union Square. Le décor est assez excentrique, la plomberie n'est peut-être pas tout à fait aux normes modernes, mais il s'agit d'un vieil immeuble et vous devez donc être prêt à faire quelques ajustements. L'ascenseur est une merveille, et nous avons adoré l'ours ! Cet hôtel n'essaie pas de se conformer aux normes des chaînes hôtelières et si vous aimez les choses un peu différentes, il vous conviendra !

Hôtel très chaleureux à 200 mètres de la place de l'UNION. Il conserve le style français de l'époque. Bien entretenu et excellent service de la part de tout le personnel. Bon petit déjeuner au sous-sol. La salle de petit déjeuner a de beaux vitraux. L'ascenseur, ancien mais fonctionnel, continue à préserver le cadre d'une époque. Hautement recommandé. Nous reviendrons !
