Kurtuvėnai Park, with a surface area of 15 090 ha, was established in 1992 to preserve this region of lakes and forests (78,8% of the park). This is the third park in the country, by its surface. Many landslides are due to basements. There are many holes, called «devil's holes» - not to miss the Pustautlaukis. There are mills in Dengtiltis and Mirskiškė, a baroque church, a th century manor house and a th-century pub in Kurtuvėnai, or the largest source from Lithuania to Svilė.There are wolves in the park. It is also a site for migratory birds. The park is recommended for recreation, fishing, cycling and horse riding. You can travel from Šiauliai to Kurtuvėnai by bike, along a 17 km road.
