Travel Guide Šventoji

12 km north of Palanga, at the mouth of the river Šventoji which gives it its name, Šventoji is an old small fishing village less than 30 km from the Latvian border. Šventoji is Palanga at its worst! That is to say that there are even more people in summer, in this small village completely dilapidated. However, it is mainly families who prefer the calm of this village to the great upheavals of Palanga... But when the village is quieter, it is the occasion to visit, by bike or by bus. On the port, the statue of the "fisherman's daughters" is not to be missed; to the north, it is the astronomical observatory (Žemaičių alka) which does not lack interest.
