It is one of the best preserved cities in the region. You can enjoy the palazzi (of the Dukes and Baron Piazza) and of course the numerous churches. The church of San Francesco is particularly admired for its baroque style and decoration, and the neoclassical church of San Leonardo. Here too, as in many villages in the centre, Holy Week is celebrated, a legacy of the Spanish colonisation, known here as scinenza. A procession leaves from the church of San Giuseppe. No less than 16 coffins parade through the town, on which are placed statues made of wood, plaster and papier-mâché, each representing the passion of Christ.
