Strange sensation that I felt when I arrived in Puerto Esperanza. While the small houses are disappearing one after the other on the main avenue, the sea is becoming more and more visible, like a vague impression of arriving at the end of the world. Halfway between the cayos Levisa and Jutias, this village of 5,000 inhabitants faces the archipelago of Los Colorados and the Florida Strait. Puerto Esperanza can quickly become a pleasant stop considering the very good fish served by the casas particulares. To get there, take the road to Viñales rather than the one that follows the coast from Vista Alegre, the road is better.
