Located 38 km from Helsinki, Tuusula (Hyrylä in Swedish) is a small, historic town with a population of 38,769 (2020), which has been home to many Finnish artists, including the writer Juhani Aho, the composer Sibelius, the painter Pekka Halonen, the poets Erkko and Leino... As well as wandering around the town and losing yourself in the narrow streets, you can also visit the church, a beautiful wooden edifice built in 1734. Tuusula enjoys a privileged location close to a beautiful lake, where you can enjoy a stroll, a canoe trip or a short boat ride..Access by car: take the E4 freeway. By bus: buses also leave Helsinki every half-hour.
