Discover le PORT OF SPAIN
Port of Spain is a cosmopolitan and dynamic capital thanks to the petrodollars. It attracts both Trinidadians of all origins and migrants from the Caribbean and Latin America who come here to try their luck. The city has 50,000 inhabitants, but this figure is very approximate as the population is spread out along the East-West corridor which goes as far as Arima. Along this axis, there are nearly 600,000 inhabitants. Port of Spain is also developing thanks to its port. Port of Spain is especially known for its carnival, one of the most beautiful in the world, attracting thousands of tourists every year. Outside of this event, the city is only visited by businessmen, tourists preferring the north coast of the island or Tobago. Today, this city is an economic leader in the Caribbean thanks to its dynamism and its good industrial health, although it depends on the value of the oil barrel.
