Ensenada is known as the seaside resort of the northern part of Baja California; she hosts Mexican tourists (from Tijuana or Mexicali) as well as Californian. Its rise at the beginning of the twentieth century was linked to American prohibition. They importèrent some activities that were banned at home. They led to the opening of a great casino - which was the reputation of the city - and the important development of wine production. Even today, its atmosphere is rather American. The city hosts one of the largest ports in the country, with huge warehouses that can be visited. It also hosts some famous sporting events such as the Newport-Ensenada Regatta, the off-piste races 1000 and Baja 500, and promotes surfing, diving and sailing. The Bahia de Todos Los Santos has fresh waters with high fish fish: This is the paradise of seafood. A few beaches for le, even though the sky is often covered in the region.
