A very old inn with beautiful geometric ironwork, a flared turret and a circular well.
Located on the Burgundy highway between Dijon and Lyon, Villefranche was a stopover town for travelers. In the Middle Ages, the town boasted a number of inns, the oldest of which was La Coupe d'Or. Mentioned as early as 1391, it remained in business until 1770. Today's courtyard dates back to Louis XIV, and features fine geometric ironwork, a flared turret and a circular well, taking us back in time.
