Wine Cellar Wine House
4/5
1 review

The Cave Valmy is undoubtedly one of the largest cellars in Lyon. With nearly 1,500 references, you'll find your happiness, whether it's champagne, wine or whisky. Advice is advised and the service provided by passionate people. Just unavoidable. Small, cool wines to the great French and foreign classics, passing through the whiskies of a passionate and enlightened amateur.
As soon as you come into this cellar, you feel comfortable in the atmosphere of the place. The simple, authentic and warm welcome, as well as the advice provided, ends up being convinced about our purchases, keeping your eyes closed. The hotel is just outside the Valmy metro so easy access.

CAVE D'OR

Caviste

For ten years at the foot of the Monts d'Or, the Cave d'Or does everything but sleep! Animated by a passionate oenologist, Frédéric Blanc, she proposes to explore the best terroirs of France. Starting with the Rhône Valley with a beautiful selection of vintage wines in condrieu, Côte-rotie, crozes-hermitage, saint-joseph, cornas and saint-péray. A choice that extends to Beaujolais, Burgundy, Provence, with excellent rosé for the summer, Languedoc-Roussillon or the Loire Valley. It is impossible to get lost in these regions, since we follow the helpful advice from a man passionate about his meetings with wine growers. One piece of advice from Futé is to attend the themed evenings of the Cave d'Or, invitations to the tasting and discovery of the vineyards. You can get together in the garden behind the shop to enjoy the sublime combination of a prime rib with a côte-rotie. Paradise is not far away! In addition, Frédéric Blanc brings together a dozen winemakers every year for a day to enjoy their wines around a buffet. Not to be missed. A golden cellar where you can also find beers of the world, a fine selection of spirits, whiskies and more than thirty rums.

LE TROISIÈME FLEUVE

Caviste

The love of wine is Vincent Dechelette's passion. A smiling wine merchant, well in the middle of his bowling, who has only one desire: to share the pleasure of drinking good wine. It's a real pleasure to talk with this passionate person, especially about Gamay (and therefore Beaujolais), who will discover the producers himself. You don't have to be a rich man to enjoy one of the bottles from all the regions of France - notably the Rhone Valley, Beaujolais (with a special emphasis on the primeur wines with a fine selection), Burgundy, Jura or the Loire.
