The 9th arrondissement covers the districts of Vaise, Gorge de Loup, Saint-Rambert-l'île-Barbe, La Duchère and Champvert-Nord. It is a well-served district of Lyon thanks to the Lyon-Vaise and Gorge-Loup stations. It is known to house the Vaise Valley technology park specialized in cutting-edge industries in the field of information, communication and digital entertainment with many companies that develop video games. In terms of heritage, this district has a large number of churches such as the ones of Saint-Pierre de Vaise, or Notre-Dame de l'Annonciation. This part of Lyon also has several pleasant green spaces, including Le Vallon and Saint-Rambert parks. Ile Barbe located in the middle of the Saône is another green area of the city and essentially inhabited by a few privileged people. As for culture, the 9th arrondissement is not to be outdone thanks to the Théâtre Nouvelle Génération, a national drama centre, and the Conservatoire national supérieur de musique et de danse de Lyon.

What to visit Lyon?

When to go to Lyon?

Lyon, the third largest city in France, is alive all year round and has an incomparable architectural, cultural or religious wealth. No tourist season other than the one caused by school holidays. So you can come whenever you want! However, it is sometimes very hot in summer and very cold in winter. You should also know that magic works particularly during the Festival of Lights, an emblematic Lyon festival that makes the city shine from all sides, from small candles lit on the windowsills of private individuals to the sumptuous illuminations of the city. Pilgrimages are also an opportunity to climb the hill of Fourvière during religious festivities. The Nuits de Fourvière, in June and July, with multidisciplinary performances in ancient theatre, are also another incentive.
