Housed in the Maison Carrée on Fourvière hill, the museum's rich collection of sacred art objects explores the history of Fourvière and the Lyon church. Magnificent works of goldsmithery by the greatest masters in the field, religious textiles, objects of Lyonnais piety and documents relating to the construction of the basilica. Fourvière has been a spiritual center since Antiquity, as recent excavations beneath the building have uncovered the remains of a Roman temple. A truly surprising museum on an exceptional site.
